The lower model is trimmed as shown (and anomalies removed using an Ash 5 or similar), the prosthetic teeth are trimmed to fit the mucosa and sealed into position using thermo wax (heat resistant wax).

After soaking the model for ten minutes in cold water (or cold mould sealing the model), Essix Ace is then vacuum formed on to the lower model in the usual method.

The excess material is then removed from the lower model and the lower Essix Ace retainer removed from the model for further trimming.

At this stage, two small 'holes' are made in the lingual side of the Essix Ace material and prosthetic teeth, so a small amount of tooth coloured or clear cold cure resin can be placed in this area to create and ensure a bond between the prosthetic teeth and the Essix Ace material. The Essix periphery and cold cure 'additions' may then be finished in the usual method.

The finished Essix Ace with prosthetic lower 4's.
