After the labial bow has been fabricated so that the 'arms' of the bow rest passively and parallel with the bridge of the Adams clasp, it is waxed into position. Tape is then spot welded around the 'bridge' & labial bow 'arm'.

Wet paper towel is then wrapped around the
acrylic part of the appliance to protect it from
the heat during the soldering process.

'Thermo Insulator Paste' for solders may also be used.

Flux is then added to the joint and two pencil marks are placed either side of the joint to prevent the solder from flowing to other parts of the Adams clasp. N.B. A good soldering technique should also concentrate the solder in the bridge area.
