What are Nipple Prostheses and how are they applied?

What does the nipple prosthesis look like?

What is it made from? Nipple prostheses are fabricated from silicone (similar to rubber). It is soft and flexible and can be molded in to any shape.

How is it fitted to my body? A combination is the smooth glossy fitting surface of the prosthesis (the surface that contacts your skin) and the moisture of your skin enables the nipple prosthesis to remain in position. Occasionally, an adhesive (which stays slightly 'tacky' and does not set solid like super glue) is required to encourage the prosthesis to remain in position.

How is the adhesive applied? The adhesive is a 'tacky' substance that is easily washed away from the prosthesis using warm water. It can be applied around the periphery of the prosthesis using your finger or a cotton bud. The prosthesis can easily be placed into position on your skin.

N.B. The adhesive should be renewed after each 24 hour period.

How do I remove the prosthesis
?
The prosthesis is easily peeled away from your skin, the adhesive washed away and the prosthesis is ready for future use.
