One case, three treatment options: -

The upper model is surveyed and unnecessary cuts blocked out.

A prosthetic lateral is trimmed to the desired shape and lightly waxed into position.

The technician may lightly pencil the outline of the acrylic flanges on to the model.

The area to be sprayed is 'waxed out', sealed and soaked for 10 minutes.

The acrylic flanges are sprayed up using 'denture' cold cure acrylic resin and cured in accordance to the manufacturer's instructions.

After boiling away the wax, the veneer, acrylic flanges and gingival margin are gradually trimmed until the appropriate design is achieved. N.B. The flanges should be thin, but not fragile, smooth and follow the contours of the soft tissues.
