Anomalies should be removed from the palatal surfaces of the teeth & soft tissues using an Ash 5 / 9 or similar.

After waxing out any undercuts on the model, the Adams clasps 6 / 6 in 0.7mm S.S wire are fabricated and waxed in to place.

The 'Roberts retractor' / Labial arch wire may be lightly pencilled on to the model as shown.

A little wax relief may be placed on the model to create and instant space between the labial wire / coil and soft tissue.

The labial wire and coil are fabricated in 0.5mm S.S wire prior to placing 0.5mm tubing on the tag arms.

A suitable length of 0.5mm S.S tubing is then placed along the 'tag arms' for strength. N.B. Allow a small length of 0.5mm wire to extend from the 0.5mm tubing and create a 'tag' in the usual way. (See further images)

Once the Labial arch wire has been bent into the palate and fits passively on to the model it can then be waxed into position.

A strip of wax is then sealed to the model prior to soaking and spraying of the appliance in cold cure acrylic in the usual method.
