Teeth Whitening Splint (upper).

</

The upper model is trimmed as shown and any anomalies are removed using an Ash 5 or similar. The upper model is then cold mould sealed and placed on the Biostar machine as shown. (A 'blank' of Hardcast is placed into the Biostar machine (which will act as a spacer for the teeth whitening gel).

The Hardcast 'blank' material.

The Hardcast 'blank is vacuum formed over the upper model.

The excess Hardcast material is removed from the upper model, then the Hardcast material is trimmed around the gingival margins, using a bur or a heated scalpel blade works extremely well.

A Bioplast Bleach 'blank' material (1mm) is then vacuum formed over the upper model (and Hardcast spacer material).

The material is then removed from the upper model.

The Hardcast spacer material can now be removed from the inside of the Bioplast Bleach material and discarded.

The vacuum formed Bioplast Bleach materials' periphery is now ready to be trimmed and smoothed. A Dimo Pro bur is used here, then the periphery is 'glossed' by lightly using a 'pen flame' and quenching the splint is cold water.

The finished upper teeth whitening splint. N.B. The splint fits closely to the soft tissues and should 'seal' / contain the whitening gel that will be placed into the teeth area of the splint. As the Hardcast 'blank' material has been removed, there is a space left for the whitening gel.

An example of the teeth whitening gel (Carbamide Peroxide).
