Twin Block Advancement - Cold cure addition: -
After retrieving the original models from storage and upper twin block checked on the working model, acrylic is added to the inclined interface (carried out here in a contrasting colour to show degree of advancement - approx 5mm.
N.B. The advancement acrylic can be added in a number of different ways: - eg -
Free-hand and then reshaping the interface.
The clinician to take an advanced wax bite, the model to be rearticulated and the addition made from there.
The models placed on the articulator using the original articulation, the lower model advanced the required number of millimetres and the addition made from there.
The additional cold cure acrylic is trimmed, smoothed using various burs and polished using a lathe.
